James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a former United States Army soldier, who was captured and turned into a super soldier assassin, known as Winter Soldier. In the wake of Peter Quill's extra-terrestial attack on Earth, the Soviet Union dispatched Winter Soldier to aid S.H.I.E.L.D. against him.
