Director Tyler Hayward is a high-ranking S.W.O.R.D. operative. A hardened survivor of the Snap, he was promoted to Director after Maria Rambeau's death. In his tenure, Hayward refocused S.W.O.R.D.'s efforts from extraterrestrial operations to robotics, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. In 2023, Hayward's main project, codenamed Cataract, revolved rebuilding Vision as a sentient weapon. Hayward urged Monica Rambeau to investigate a mysterious energy field surrounding the town of Westview, which was under Wanda Maximoff's control, spearheaded an investigation on the anomaly in order to harness Maximoff's powers as an energy source for Vision's rebuilt body.
