Thomas Cromwell (Wolf Hall)

Thomas Cromwell is the protagonist of the historical fiction novel Wolf Hall and its two sequels, Bring Up the Bodies and The Mirror and the Light, by Hilary Mantel. The Trilogy chronicles his rise from being the son of a Putney blacksmith to becoming one of the most powerful men in England and the most trusted advisor of Henry VIII, as well as his eventual downfall.
In the BBC TV adaptation he was portrayed by Mark Rylance.
