Tara Carpenter is the deuteragonist of the film franchise Scream, she serves as the supporting character in Scream (2022), and the one of two protagonists (along with Sam) in the sequel film (2023). She is portrayed by Jenna Ortega. While home alone, the "elevated horror" fan becomes the first target of the 2022 Woodsboro Legacy Killings. Despite this, she survives, an inverse to the tradition of the previous four film openings.
