Sir Bowen is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Draco) of the 1996 fantasy film, Dragonheart and a minor character in the 2000 sequel, Dragonheart II: A New Beginning.

He was best friends with Draco, the last dragon (who he had been forced to kill at the dragon's behest), and the husband of Kara.

In the prologue for the film, it is shown that Bowen is a truly honorable knight, teaching Einon the ways of the old Code and offering his sword to Draco when he swore that his sword is for Draco, no matter what.

However, after Einon's father's death, Bowen became disillusioned with his honor and the Old Code, vowing to kill Draco for “poisoning” Einon. Upon learning that Einon feigned his loyalty to Bowen and never really took his former mentor's lessons to heart, Bowen realized that he had been disillusioned for too long.
