Russell Edgington is a major character in the third and fifth seasons. He is portrayed by starring cast member Denis O'Hare and debuts in "Beautifully Broken". Russell is the former vampire king of Mississippi, and currently a Chancellor of the newly reformed Authority. An ancient vampire of almost 3,000 years old, Russell is considered by many to be the oldest, and most powerful vampire in existence, as well as the craziest.

Ruined or wasted characters. (19 characters items)"So much potential and so much acting talent. We don't get to see a very interesting plotline fuel by him because the show is allergic to actually having an overarching plot. A war between Fae and Vampire should have Russell Edgington there. In Season 3 he was so much fun, so charismatic, smart enough, ambitious with a bit of depth, then... They don't do shit with him, they up the lunacy, they make him do boring stuff and when he finally comes back, they killed him in a very dull, unceremonious"
