Reiko Asakawa

Reiko Asakawa is the main protagonist of Ring, being a female counterpart to the novel's protagonist Kazuyuki Asakawa. After learning her niece Tomoko died after watching an alleged cursed videotape, Reiko investigates the rumours and discovers the tape to exist and watches the tape, only having seven days to find a way to remove the curse. She employs the help of her ex-husband Ryuji Takayama to achieve this. They have a son named Yoichi Asakawa.
