Quan Chi (Mortal Kombat 1)

Quan Chi was born in Outworld and lived a meaningless, unfulfilling life working in the mines. At some point, he was approached by a powerful sorceress calling herself Damashi, who told him that he was being conspired against to prevent him from reaching his full potential. He followed Damashi and learned powerful sorcery, including the ability to travel unfettered between realms. He took residence within the Netherrealm, where he enslaved legions of demons to do his bidding. Only one demon, Ashrah, rebelled against him, and thus he sent her demonic sisters to chase her down and kill her.
