Peter Gibbons (portrayed by, Ron Livingston) is the main protagonist from the movie "Office Space" (1999) - He begins in the movie as a disgruntled software engineer at Initech who helps with 'updating the bank software for the 2000 switch' (in his own words). The film focuses on his gripes with the workplace and how sincerely he hates his job and how it has affected him mentally and emotionally. Both at work and at home, he is generally apathetic and demotivated with an apparent lack of actual work ethic. During therapy, he states that every day is the worst day of his life, indicating his misery. He tends to be pushed around by his superiors despite his wishes to be more protestant, or in his own fantasies, be able to live and do nothing. He lives next to his neighbour Lawrence in Morningwood Apartments, an apartment block with notably thin walls. At work, Peter's two friends are Samir and Michael who share a similar distaste for Initech. He has a troubling relationship with his girlfriend Ann and suspects that she's cheating on him while he develops a crush on Joanna, the waitress at a local Chotchkie's.
