Nola was highly loyal to her family and tribe, despite an unknown fallout that caused her to leave originally. She wanted justice for the murdered Kinaho girl and her brother who was killed by Rebecca. At some point in her past, she had become addicted to heroin and was living in a heavily drugged state with a man who kept her high so he could use her for sex. She was rescued by Chayton Littlestone, with whom she shares a mutual respect as Kinaho warriors.

Nola was a highly skilled warrior, particularly at close combat, being able to easily beat big men and injure and nearly kill Clay Burton. She skillfully used tomahawks; she could throw them with incredible precision and use them at close range.
