Sergeant Lucy Chen is a main character in The Rookie, played by Melissa O'Neil. She is a Sergeant I assigned to the Mid-Wilshire Division. Her training officer was Tim Bradford in Season 1-3, and their callsign was usually 7-Adam-19. Her badge number from Seasons 1-7 was 28537. She was promoted to Police Officer II in "Amber". In "The Shot", Lieutenant Wade Grey needed another training officer, so she was given an interim (temporary) promotion to Police Officer III and trained rookie Seth Ridley until his termination from the FTO program in "Chaos Agent", after which she reverted to a Police Officer II. Upon her promotion to Sergeant I at the end of "Mutiny And The Bounty", her role becomes the night shift supervising Sergeant. Starting in Season 8, she has been promoted to patrol field supervisor on the day shift, replacing Bradford after he became Watch Commander. After becoming a sergeant, her badge number changed to 8713 and her callsign is 7-Adam-300 or 7-Lincoln-300.
