Kurt Hectic

Kurt Hectic is one of the major characters of the MDK series, playable in both the first game (MDK) and the second game (MDK 2). In both titles he plays the reluctant janitor forced to save the world.

Kurt is very easily irritated, and longs for nothing more than an ordinary life. He enjoys the company of his employer Dr. Hawkins, and is friends with Max (but whether him and Harvey speak is unknown), however this also leads to his bizarre life, as the Doctor has exiled himself from Earth and taken his janitor in tow. No cleaning robots or other personnel are ever seen on the ship, so it is assumed that Kurt does all the work on the Jim Dandy for cleaning up. Harvey probably helps as well, but it is never shown how.

Despite Kurt being nothing more than a janitor, he seems to have extremely adept movement skills and abilities, being capable of moving about very easily in the Coil Suit and adapting to it extremely quickly. Although the suit may help with most of his abilities, it is still very clear that Kurt is a very powerful individual. He is also extremely fearless, as he takes on hordes of aliens and finds it more of an annoyance than any actual threat. He never seems to show any fear towards the aliens despite their numbers, weapons, and towering size. He does, however, state multiple times in MDK 2 that he doesn't want to do it, and it is implied it is due to apathy and reluctance to be a hero for no reason beyond selfishness. The ending to MDK 2 for Kurt shows that he may have some xenophobia as well, and this may be the basis for him being willing to have such a little amount of friends and be capable of living away from humanity. He is content knowing his own achievements and finds it much more rewarding than crowds of fans.
Kurt is also very vengeful and objective oriented, and is capable of charging through hordes and hordes of opponents to find leaders and targets, even taking on large WMD's from aliens just to destroy them. Despite his reluctance, he is a prime soldier. He is willing to chase down and defeat Schwang Schwing for injuring Max, and attacks Zizzy Ballooba due to him toying with them the entire series.
