Kurama (Elfen Lied) (Manga)

Kurama is the Director General (sometimes referred to as Room Monitor) working at the Diclonius Research Institute under Chief Kakuzawa, recruited by the man's eldest son. She is around 30 years old when the series begins, marked by Lucy's escape amidst the brutal murders of many of the facility's staff, including Kurama's secretary. He is a father figure, albeit a flawed one, to both Nana and his biological daughter, Mariko, and his actions, whatever his mental state, are often with protecting them in mind. Over time, his employers' crazy plans force him to make tough decisions and even tougher decisions, to the point of threatening his sanity. Whatever his alliances, he relentlessly views Lucy as the number one threat to humanity and the world itself.
