Kelpie

A kelpie is a shapeshifting spirit of Scottish folklore said to haunt rivers and lakes, often taking the form of a white horse. It preys on humans, especially young children. The kelpie tempts its victims into riding on its back before suddenly leaping into deep water, drowning the rider.
