The Magistrate / Jonah

The Magistrate, better known as Jonah, is a Gibborim who, for centuries, has possessed human bodies on Earth. In 1957, he possessed a doctor named Jonah. He assembled the members of PRIDE granting them resources in order to make them fulfill his own agenda. He is the biological father of Karolina Dean, and both share the same power of light generation.

As part of the deal he struck with PRIDE, Jonah was repeatedly revived by PRIDE's annual rituals. When he was restored for the fifteenth time, however, he discovered that PRIDE had to face many ordeals, including Victor Stein suffering from a brain tumor. Despite Jonah curing Stein with his serum, he later learned that Stein had died after being shot by his wife Janet. Jonah threatened to kill the members of PRIDE as he was deeply upset by Stein's death and kept Stein's body in a Dematerialization Box so he could revive him later.

In parallel, Jonah also began collaborating with Frank Dean, who informed him that the Runaways were aware of PRIDE's illegal activities. Jonah faced the Runaways on the PRIDE Construction Site and captured his daughter Karolina, but she was ultimately rescued by her friends. Despite this inconvenience, Jonah tightened his grip over the Church of Gibborim and kept pursuing his own agenda, even if it meant antagonizing the members of PRIDE.
