Isaiah Bradley is a Korean War veteran and the first African-American super soldier.

In 1951, there were rumors that Winter Soldier was active during the Korean War. When the United States Army caught wind of this, they made several attempts to stop him, but everyone they sent was killed. Eventually, they tasked Bradley with halting the Winter Soldier's activities. Bradley tracked the Winter Soldier to a bar in Goyang and, in the ensuing battle, managed to tear off half of his metal arm. Winter Soldier managed to escape the fight, one of the few defeats suffered by the assassin over his long career. This incident, among others, gained Bradley a reputation as one of HYDRA's most feared enemies.

Despite his service to the United States of America, Bradley was put in prison for thirty years. During that time, scientists ran tests on him, took samples of his blood, and invaded his cell's privacy, all without his permission. Some of those who experimented on him were agents of HYDRA under disguise.
