Carver

Carver (ハッサン, Hassan) is a playable character found in Dragon Quest VI. He is present in the opening scenes prior to gameplay, but is not recruited until the Hero completes the events in Gardsbane Tower and obtains a horse, which Carver sweetly names "Peggy Sue" even if the Hero said no. When the duo recruits Milly and obtains visibility in the real world, they learn a little bit more about Carver; being born into a family of carpenters in Port Haven (this explains Carver's ability with a hammer as witnessed at the dwarf's house). Carver disregards this, but it's hinted that he is possibly the child of these two, as they mention their son left and has not been seen since.

Upon arriving at Murdaw's keep, Carver and the party discover the ugly truth about what happened to him and the gang. After a chilling cutscene, Carver regains some lost memories, confirming that he is the son of the family in Port Haven. This changes his title to "Carpenter's Son" and grants him a new skill.
