Elisabet Sobeck
Elisabet Sobeck, Ph.D. (March 11, 2020 - January, 2066) was an American scientist, roboticist, and engineer. Brilliant and talented, with a deep altruistic concern for the world, Sobeck spent her entire career at the forefront of efforts to use technology to reduce and reverse the impact of global damage to the environment.
On learning of the unstoppable existential threat to life on Earth that was what became known as the Faro Plague, Sobeck proposed and successfully oversaw the development and implementation of Zero Dawn. This was a global terraforming system which, long after life was exterminated, neutralized the Faro Plague, made the planet again habitable, and restored life to it, including humans. Furthermore, centuries after her death, her genetic code was used by GAIA, the terraforming systemโs central artificial intelligence, to create Aloy, a young Nora huntress who successfully stopped the Faro Plagueโs reactivation, and thus saved life from a second, permanent extermination.
