Joseph Meach was working at the Superman Museum, when a bolt of lightning struck him and statuettes of the Legion of Super-Heroes, which game him the combined powers of the Legion. Determined to destroy Superman, Batman, and Robin, he used his shape shifting powers to turn his skin green and fashion himself a costume that was half-Superman and half-Batman. Calling himself the Composite Superman, he has over the years tried to defeat the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.
