The Black Ranger is a common character in Power Rangers & Super Sentai.
Blacks are usually present in five person teams, and the color was typically the go-to color to accompany red/blue/yellow/pink until the mid-90s.
While this character has always been male on the show, Power Rangers has recently expanded it out to women with the official RPG web series, and then the Boom Studios comic literally the next day.
