Helmut J. Zemo, the son of Baron Heinrich Zemo, followed in his father's footsteps to become a supervillain. How proud he must be. Son of the infamous Baron Zemo who operated in WWII and battled the likes of Capt. America. After Heinrich (the father) accidentally killed himself during a battle with Captain America, Helmut blamed the Captain for destroying their family. Studying and replicating some of Heinrich's inventions and undergoing combat training, Helmut eventually attacked Captain America in the costumed guise of the Phoenix, also battling the Captain's new partner the Falcon. In the end, Zemo was accidentally knocked into a vat of Adhesive X.

Thereafter, he adopted his father's costumed (and masked) guise of Baron Zemo and through intelligence, ingenuity and ruthlessness has spent years being a scourge upon the Marvel Universe.

Years later, one of his ingenious plans saw the birth of the supergroup The Thunderbolts wherein he (along with other Masters of Evil alumni) donned the guises of new 'heroes' to lure the public into complacency and set themselves up for new opportunities.

Oh, Mr. America sort of killed his father. He started out under the moniker The Phoenix, not to be confused with Jean Grey, and quickly captured Captain America. He then accidentally fell into a vat of boiling Adhesive X (the most powerful bonding agent invented) and was thought to be dead. He wasn't. He just looked like a wax figure. Think Joan Rivers.Years later, he appeared again, allied with Primus, and kidnapped Captain America's friend Arnold Roth to lure the hero into a trap. It didn't work. Later, Zemo was trained” read more
