Ba'al

Ba'al is an unaffiliated Rune Knight in Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia.

A young chief who rules over a small village of ethnic minorities surrounded by major countries. On the surface he raises livestock, but underneath he blackmails countries with secrets he collects in order to maintain the village's autonomy. Day after day, he labors to ensure the village's survival, earning him their trust. When war breaks out, however, he senses that he can no longer protect the village using the same methods as before and decides to join the war effort with his villagers' security as the foremost condition for his enlistment.
