Atticus Finch is a lawyer with a high integrity, who defends a black man who is accused of raping a white woman in the 1930s, and faces great adversity. He is also a single father, who does his best to raise his son and daughter and teach them right and wrong, even if what's right isn't popular. He was created by Harper Lee, based on her own father, for her sole novel "To Kill a Mockingbird." He was portrayed by Gregory Peck in the film adaptation, and was voted the #1 greatest film hero by the American Film Institute.
