Alphonse Loeher / Lanselot Tartaros

Alphonse Loeher, formerly known as Alphonse Tartare, is the protagonist and titular character of Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis.

A young man dissatisfied with his family situation, he took the chance to leave home with his friend Rictor to go on a mission to the island nation of Ovis. Soon he discovers this mission to be much more than the simple patrol it was purported to be.

As the primary protagonist, he's the de-facto leader of the player's army.

Later in life he came to be known as Lanselot Tartaros.

Lanselot Tartaros, also known as Lans Tartare and Alphonse Loeher, is the protagonist of Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis and one of the primary antagonists in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. He is the High Champion of Lodis and leader of the Dark Knights Loslorien.

Lanselot began his career as a knight with the name Alphonse Loeher. His first mission abroad was to the island of Ovis. There, he discovered secrets and lived events beyond what he could have imagined, that elevated him to the status of war hero but also shaped him into the cynical man who serves as Pope Saldian's right-hand.

Despite his supposed loyalty to the Pope, he has his own agenda.
