As a result of secret experiments conducted by his former coach Simon Grey, danger and adrenaline trigger accelerated mental processes called AMP (Advanced Macro Probability) Factor allowing Alex to quickly examine his environment, calculate all possible outcomes and choose the best course of action. He learns to hone this ability with the motto "Check it out. Dial it in. Amp it up."
