Catherine was born in Middlesbrough, an industrial town in North East England. She was a quiet and shy child, but always had a passion for performing. She dreamed of becoming a singer but as she got older she focused her attentions on acting. After completing a Performing Arts degree in 2007, she moved down to London to complete her performance training at The Bridge Theatre Training company in Camden, North London. She graduated in 2009.
