Cascada is a German Eurodance act most famous for their hit singles "Everytime We Touch", "What Hurts the Most", and "Evacuate the Dancefloor". Cascada has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and estimated 15 million digital downloads, their most successful album being their debut and most successful song being Evacuate The Dancefloor which went platinum in the notoriously dance shy market of the USA.
The discography of Cascada, a German Eurodance group, consists of three studio albums, seventeen singles and thirteen music videos.
Their debut album, Everytime We Touch was released in 2006 and produced a chain of hit singles including the title track second single "Everytime We Touch", which was nominated in 2006 for an International Dance Music Award for Best High Energy Track. The album also includes the internationally successful "Miracle" and "Truly Madly Deeply". The album earned them a World Music Award for Best-Selling German Artist, and a European Border Breakers Award for Best European Border Breaker - Germany. Their second studio album, Perfect Day was released in 2007, which was commercially successful and produced the international single, "What Hurts the Most". Cascada's third album, Evacuate the Dancefloor, was released in summer 2009 and the title track and first single, "Evacuate the Dancefloor", entered the UK Singles Chart at number one becoming Cascada's first number one in the UK.
Everytime We Touch is the debut album from eurodance group Cascada, consisting of DJ Manian, Natalie Horler, and Yanou. The album was released on February 21, 2006. It took only three weeks to record. The album has sold about 7 million copies worldwide.
Critical reception of the album has been mixed to negative, with many critics disliking the repetitive beat and saying the album had too much filler. Most critics did admire, however, its chart success for a dance album in the tough U.S. music market.
In November 2006, a new album by trance music project/band Cascada, entitled The Remix Album, was released in Germany, as a follow up to the very successful Everytime We Touch. It includes various remixes for most of the songs from Everytime We Touch, including "Miracle", "Ready for Love", "Love Again", "Can't Stop the Rain", "One More Night", "A Neverending Dream", "Wouldn't It Be Good", and "Kids in America".
Perfect Day is the second studio album released by German Eurodance act Cascada. It features a number of cover songs, most notably Avril Lavigne's "Sk8er Boi", Pink's "Just like a Pill", Patti Smith's "Because the Night" and Mark Wills' song "What Hurts the Most". Two edited tracks, "Endless Summer" and "I Will Believe It" that were previously recorded under the Siria name are also featured.
The third single "Because The Night" is replaced by "Faded" in the US and Canada.
Evacuate the Dancefloor is the third studio album released by German dance act Cascada. It was released in the United Kingdom on July 6, 2009, a week after the lead single "Evacuate the Dancefloor".
With the release of their first single "Evacuate the Dancefloor", people heard their sound change toward modern electropop and contemporary R&B. Cascada's lead singer Natalie Horler explained that "You do evolve and progress and we're very proud of what's come of it." trying to distance themselves from Lady Gaga's electropop sound. Previews of the album began to appear on YouTube on June 23, 2009. The lead single, Evacuate the Dancefloor, features a variety of synthesizers. Different basslines and new instrument sounds contrast to the traditional style of Cascada of which was the only styling used in previous songs.
"Fever" for instance features a standard dance music beat with electropop synths, also similar to the house genre of Benny Benassi and David Guetta, and is also the only song on the albums that has profanity. "Ready Or Not" is a monumental throbathon that's a throwback to the cheesy floor-fillers of the 90s eurodance. "Hold On", "Dangerous" and "Everytime I Hear Your Name" are classy eurodance anthems with pulsating beats, swirling synths and vocoder effects. "Breathless" mimics Kelly Clarkson's pop-rock sound with pulsating synths and the drum beats of "Evacuate the Dancefloor" and "Hold Your Hands Up" holds similar qualities to Natasha Bedingfield's music.
Album Original Me, taking note of the criticism their previous album received, mainly the lack of cohesiveness linking the album as a whole, Cascada decided to experiment with a new release strategy, planning to produce and release different singles and then attempting to bind them all into an album. A new single "Pyromania" was released in 2010, continuing their new electro-pop sound. A second single, "Night Nurse", was the released along with a music video featuring Natalie in full body paint of various colors in many scenes. This song never got a commercial release but was featured on a compilation CD in the UK.
A new song titled "Enemy" was featured in a documentary, and there were talks of the group wrapping up production and presentation meetings of their next album. On the weekend of March 26, Cascada shot two music videos for upcoming singles "San Francisco" and "Au Revoir". Both videos were directed by Lisa Mann and choreographed by Luther Brown. All Around the World released on their Twitter that the first single will be "San Francisco" and that the video will premiere on Clubland TV soon. They also confirmed that the new album will be called Original Me and will also feature a bonus Greatest Hits CD and DVD. On May 6, 2011, All Around the World announced that the San Francisco video would premiere at 5pm UK time on Clubland TV and their official YouTube account.
