Borisav Stankovic

Borisav “Bora” Stanković (1876-1927) was a famous Serbian realist novelist who was the first to introduce females as main characters in Serbian literature. His works were mainly focused on the oppression of women in 19th century Serbian society and the restrictions and customs that prevented them from choosing their own destinies.
