Boris Kaufman, A.S.C. was a Russian-American cinematographer and the younger brother of filmmakers Dziga Vertov and Mikhail Kaufman. He is best known for his collaborations with directors Sidney Lumet and Elia Kazan including "12 Angry Men" (1957), "On the Waterfront" (1954), "Splendor in the Grass" (1961), "The Fugitive Kind" (1960), "Long Day's Journey Into Night" (1962) and "The Pawnbroker" (1964). Kaufman also served in the French Army during World War II.
