Those were the days;: Tales of a long life by Edward Ringwood Hewitt

Edward Ringwood Hewitt was grandson of Peter Cooper, founder of the Cooper Union and of John Hewitt, noted 19th c. furniture maker in New York, and son of Abram Hewitt, Mayor of New York City, and the family that founded the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. This is a book of tales that Hewitt told his children and grandchildren about his life and his experiences in New York City in the late 1800s, including the Blizzard of 1877.
