Description:
Winner of the National Book Award for her novel Them and the PEN/Malamud Award for Achievement in the Short Story, Joyce Carol Oates is also a highly acclaimed dramatist. Her plays have been performed in major cities throughout the United States and Europe. In 1990 she was co-winner of the Heideman Award for One-Act Plays for a work produced at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, and in 1994 her play The Perfectionist was nominated for an American Theatre Critics Award.
