The Holy Bible: King James Version review

If counted as a single book, the Bible is one of the best-selling publications in history. But the fact that there are so many versions reduces its impact and makes for a lot of arguments between fans. If you thought the Kirk vs Picard debate was bad, try religion. Christian Bibles alone range from the 66 books of the Protestant canon to the 81 books in the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible. However this version is one of the best and most widely accepted, so if you are going to dip your toe in, to see what the fuss is about, this is perhaps the best one to start with.

The Holy Bible: King James Version review

My life manual, The word of God. Fantastic poetry, insane stories, full of prophecies and facts. There is not much else to say. If you don't find it life changing, then I don't know which parts you are reading of the 66 books. Sure here and there some parts might "bore" someone, but there's so much more to that. You really have to read in between some of the lines for some of the chapters.
Genesis stands out in the Old testament deals with the creation of the earth, Adam and Eve, the fall of man, genealogies and The Flood.
The Proverbs and Psalms are the most poetic and awe-inspiring, heartfelt, insane pieces of literature ever assembled.
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are really crucial in understanding how important and significant Jesus is to so many people. It's where you will finds His death and Resurrection, which are crucial for knowing about Salvation, without that Jesus was just a crazy good prophet.
The other insane book would be Revelations. I'd pay anybody to know all the detail in that book, it's so amazingly cryptic, yet insightful of the HORROR and Judgement there is to come for those "not written in the Book of Life".
Although many seem to find these collection of books to be violent and crazy, it shows SO MUCH LOVE that God has for us. The only book everyone should and needs to read :p

The Holy Bible: King James Version review

It is beyond ignorant to treat The Bible like any other book you can just rate and review. The Bible is a Holy book from God. It's a novel, a biography, etc., all at once. If only one book were ever written this would be it. It is the most important work there is.

I dont consider the bible as a book if not as the word of God. Some people think its just the best book of al times, true, but i consider the bible as the book of life... The truth of the world is written in it, and God talks thru it. Im christian and in the bible theres everything u need to know to go to heaven, or to hell... its you're desicion. The bible is reality, truth, consuming fire, and the word of God.

The Book

This is truly the Book of all Books. Whether you believe its contents (as I do) or not, one cannot escape the influence of this book which, along side Homer's two mighty Epics, has been the foundation of every other Great work ever produced.

The themes in this book are many and varied, ranging from Love and Hate, to Sex and Politics, indeed every sphere of life is covered in this book! And, while the positions taken are often considered controversial in today's society, the fact that every subject is addressed, is something to be marveled at! It is common today to shovel issues under the rug of partisanship or to censor them altogether; but the Bible has the guts to actually GO THERE! And that is Noble.

I personally prefer the New King James Version of the Bible, as it retains much of the beauty of the original King James, yet is more easily digestible for those unfamiliar with Jacobean English.

Again, whether you agree with its teachings or not, this is definitely a book to be had on the shelf, absolutely one of the world's Greatest of Great Books.
