In Blind Submission, Angel Robinson loves books, but finds herself unemployed when her employer, a San Francisco independent bookstore, goes out of business. At her boyfriend's urging, she lands a job as an assistant to the most powerful literary agent on the west coast, Lucy Fiamma. Lucy is a sadistic, psychotic boss from hell, but Angel finds a way to work with her and discovers that she has a talent for spotting writing talent. An anonymous writer begins e-mailing chapters from a novel titled Blind Submission to Angel, about a woman named Alice who works for a literary agent. This blind submission unnerves Angel, since it seems based on her life, including things she thought nobody knew. As subsequent chapters delve into Alice's relationships with her co-workers and leads to murder, Angel realizes she has to find out who is behind it. Could it be her boyfriend who wants his own novel published, one of her backstabbing co-workers, or even Lucy herself? Blind Submission has received mostly positive reviews with the San Diego Union-Tribune review saying, "With savvy plotting and writing that hits its stride after the first dozen or so pages, Blind Submission delivers on its promise of a smart, fun ride through the publishing world."
