In 2011 Barbie Castro, Wrote, Produced & Co-Directed a Pilot called "Miami 3oh5." Miami 3oh5 won A Silver Award at the 2011 California Film Awards, in the Television Pilot Division, as well as a Silver Sierre Award at the 2012 Yosemite International Film Festival in the Television Pilot Competition.
The passion didn't stop there as Barbie was determined to Produce her first feature film. That was the birth of Assumed Killer (2013), Directed by Bernard Salzmann. The film has Worldwide Distribution by Mar Vista Entertainment and is scheduled to be released in 2013 starring Casper Van Dien, Barbie Castro, Armand Assante, Christie Lynn Smith, Eric Roberts, William R. Moses, Nancy Stafford and various other talented actors.
In between films, Barbie Castro is a prominent Real Estate Broker and Real Estate Investor in S FL since 1996.
Barbie Castro is the wife of Eric R. Castro, the COO of Banker's Healthcare Group, Inc. and has two beautiful daughters Rhys Castro, 20 & Taylor Castro, 17.
