Description: Barbara was the daughter of a silent movie dancer, Esther Kaufman, who went by the name Maureen Knight, and a non-professional father, Leonidis Bly. Born in Pasadena, California, she was raised in the Los Angeles area. She starred in only three movie roles, in the 50's, but had numerous appearances on television. She married William McCorkle in '46 and had two children by him but divorced in '52. It was only after she was mysteriously stricken with polio in '53, and a lengthy recovery that stretched months, that she pursued her acting career.
