Art Passarella

Art Passarella was born on December 23, 1909 in New York, USA as Arthur Matthew Passarella. He was an actor, known for Home Run Derby (1959), 1949 World Series (1949) and The Streets of San Francisco (1972). He was married to Elvina Laurich. He died on October 12, 1981 in Hemet, California, USA. Passarella joined the American League in 1941, then missed the 1943 and 1944 seasons due to service in the Army during World War II. He served as a plans and training clerk for a medical training battalion. Passarella ran what is thought to be the first military umpire training school; it was conducted for members of his medical unit.
