She has 2 other sisters Shibani Dandekar- who is elder to her & Apeksha Dandekar who is younger to her. They have a band by the name of D-Major that has done a lot of live performances including an opening act for Akon for the KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS. Dandekar was born on 9 January 1981 in Sudan. She grew up in Kings grove, Sydney, Australia. She made her acting debut in Bollywood with Mumbai Matinee and went on to do Viruddh where she was paired opposite John Abraham.
