Antti attended East Carolina University on a basketball scholarship. He graduated at the top of his class with a major in Broadcast and Film. While in college, he made a short film based on Jim Morrison's poetry entitled: "Fist Full of Sand." The film won a filmmaking award at the North Carolina Film Festival and attracted attention from executives at MTV in New York City.
After college, he moved to New York and worked for MTV as an assistant producer on the music shows "Awake on the Wild Side" (1990), "MTV Rocks" and the seminal "Yo! MTV Raps" (1988).
When he returned to his native Finland, he co-founded his own production company, Solar Films, which has grown into Finland's largest TV and film producer. Solar Films has produced two of the top ten grossing Finnish films of all time.
During his years in Finland, Antti directed and co-wrote two large drama series for national television. "Tähtilampun alla" (1997) and "Kirjava silta" (2000) both won several television drama awards in Finland. Antti also directed and co-wrote a half fictional documentary Bioterror (1999), which was shot in English and distributed via Canal Plus into ten different countries around the world, including the United States.
After CVC-Report ranked him as one of the top ten upcoming directors in the world, Antti was approached by several prominent music production companies for representation in the United States. It did not take long before he quickly became one of the most requested music video directors worldwide.
Antti is represented by Nick Reed at ICM for feature film work, and has two of his own original screenplays in development. He will begin directing his first full-length feature film in June 2009 in New Mexico. Hammer Films' The Resident (2011) will star Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Christopher Lee. Antti co-wrote the thriller's screenplay with Robert Orr and Erin Cressida Wilson. The movie is due to open in 2010.
Artists such as Will Smith, Shania Twain, Céline Dion, Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott, and Shaggy, as well as up-and-coming performers have chosen Antti's visual flair as their calling card. Known for his lighting and on-screen composition, Antti has forged a new and graphic template that combines the grittines of artists like Wyclef Jean and City High with the girl-next-door charm of American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and European pop sensation Westlife.
Was offered a chance to direct AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem (2007).
