Description: Anne Meara, with her husband Jerry Stiller, were members of the improvisational company, the Compass Players, which later evolved as the Second City Theater. They performed as a duo under the name "Stiller and Meara", after some time, they gained popularity with their work on The Ed Sullivan Show (1948). With the demise of variety shows, the act dissolved, and Anne went on to delivery her charismatic charm through a variety of television roles, notably Sally Gallagher in /tt0071040], which garnered Meara a Golden Globe, and Veronica Rooney in the hit sitcom Archie /tt0078562].
