When he was already 17 years old, achieved independence, tired of their artistic talents appropriate by its maintainer, showing his art on their own. In these times of changes in the life of Andrea, the young man begins to look at Padua, place of residence, as a place especially designed for his art, begins to frequent the antique shops of the city, pays special attention to painting and the art of ancient Rome and will shape its own style. In this period of his life come to light his first works, which have been conducted in the chapel of San Jaccopo and San Cristoforo de Ovetari, along with Ansuino da Forli. When you get the year 1453 marries the sister of well known artists called Nicolosia Bellini, who becomes his companion throughout his life. Within a few years of artistic activity, guided and advised by Ludovico Gonzaga moved to Mantua, but is from this moment that is marked a stage in the life of the artist that Gonzaga will work all his life for the family. In this period he made many works where the most important, "Chamber of husbands' at the Ducal Palace of the Gonzaga where portrays in addition to the family taking the perspective to new never-before-seen borders. It is approximately in this period in which the artist still would have failed the 30 years, that comes to light the "San Sebastian in Vienna", work that exploits his fame throughout Italy; and after his stay in Rome, under the orders of Pope Inocencio VIII, comes the restoration of various works. Then, shortly after returns to Mantua to start the series of "the triumph of C sar", "El Parnaso" commissioned by Isabel de Este, wonderful works of the artist. Then comes "The dead Christ", which is distinguished by dialing his own tan style. And it is from this moment that the classical human figure will be one of his obsessions, and reflect in their works perfect proportions, solids and highly expressive.
