Jackson’s been waking up audiences across the nation with her unique brand of "News with Personality" since her start at KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego. She moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a traffic and weather anchor for KNBC before launching the national morning show “The Daily Buzz” as host and managing editor from 2002-2010.
Jackson spent 2011 as a morning reporter and weekend anchor for the NBC affiliate WESH in Orlando, FL covering the Casey Anthony trial. She joined the WESH 2 News "Sunrise" team as a freelancer in January of 2011 covering breaking news.
A few of Jackson's biggest highlights during her TV news career including pulling 9.2G's with the USAF Thunderbirds in an F-16! Her interviews with former President Carter and Marvel’s Stan Lee follow a long list of fascinating politicians, celebrities and business leaders she’s met on-air!
In 2012, Jackson launched the lifestyle show "Life Love Shopping" on WEtv, while continuing her role as host of “The Daily Buzz.”
Andrea also developed and launched the smartphone app "WakeUpCall.TV" in 2010 featuring daily video newscasts with an alarm clock function for iPhone and Android.
She also created Stable 8 TV, an internet channel and website, devoted to equestrian television programming. This venture gave Jackson the opportunity to flex her talents behind the camera showcasing her unique brand of storytelling.
Jackson got her start in TV news working as a chopper reporter for San Diego's ABC affiliate KGTV where she was nominated for an Emmy for the La Mesa bus-hijacking story. She then became the weekday morning weather & traffic anchor for KGTV, all while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at SDSU.
Ahead of leaving for LA, she added the entertainment beat to her resume at the ABC station. She covered press junkets and the red carpet live pre-shows from the Academy Awards.
Prior to joining "The Daily Buzz" for its debut in 2002, Andrea was living in Los Angeles where she was also pursuing acting roles. Her other TV credits include NBC's hidden camera show "Spy TV” and co-starring roles on the NBC soap "Passions," CBS's "JAG", USA's "Pensacola", and "Arrest & Trial."
Andrea studied with acting coach Howard Fine in his Master Class, Big Roy Jenkins at "The Groundlings," and Broadway director Courtney Burr.
Andrea graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Film and Political Science. She’s an active member of SAG, AFTRA and the Broadcast Film Critic's Association.
In her spare time Andrea loves to review movies and compete in equestrian show jumping events.
