Description: Andre Braugher (born July 1, 1962) is an American actor best known for his portrayal of fiery detective Frank Pembleton on Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993 to 1998, and again in the 2000 made-for-TV movie. Braugher was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in theater in 1984; he was originally a pre-med student. Braugher then attended the Juilliard School in New York City, receiving his M.F.A. His first film role was in 1989 as servant-turned-soldier Thomas Searles in Glory.
