Description: A Tribe Called Quest is a rap group that broke new ground in the late '80s and early '90s, seamlessly infusing jazz samples into their songs, which were often playful, tongue-in-cheek affairs. Their albums showcased DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad on the turntables, while rappers Jonathan "Q-Tip" Davis and Malik "Phife Dawg" Taylor traded verses that that were often quirky and fitful. The group also included founding member Jarobi White, who later left the crew.
