Review of Snatch

A great movie

Back in those days, after directing 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and this movie, Guy Ritchie was considered one of the most promising directors. Unfortunately, he made afterwards the terrible 'Swept away'. Since then, his career has recovered but you can't say he has really fulfilled all those expectations. Still, this second directing effort was just brilliant. Indeed, I thought it was just a hilarious movie, completely entertaining and it was also very well made. Indeed, the visuals and direction were just great, the story was just so damned entertaining from the beginning util the end with some awesome oneliners. There were also a bunch of actors present who all gave some great perfomances ( Benicio Del Toro, Dennis Farina, Vinnie Jones, Brad Pitt, Rade Serbedzija, Jason Statham, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng). Later on, Guy Ritchie tried to get the same vibe with 'RocknRolla' but even though it was enjoyable, it never reaches the level of that classic. I hope some day Ritchie will blow me away again like this.... Anyway, it is my favorite movie directed by Guy Ritchie, a great flick, and it is definitely worth a look.
