Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect from this flick but with such an all-star cast (George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey), I just had to watch it at some point. It is rather tricky to describe it but I did like it, that's for sure. Basically, it is a really unbelievable political satire dealing with some paranormal 'things' and the weirdest thing is that some of those events may have even really happened. When watching this feature, I was reminded of another movie called 'The Hunting party'. It was also based on actual events which were quite fascinating but, in both movies, it seems that the makers didn't trust the material enough and felt compelled to add some fictionalized aspects which actually undermined the impact of the story, in my opinion. Here, it is obvious that they didn't take the story seriously at all (just check the title and the poster...) and, as a result, why should the viewer take it seriously then? Still, I did like it. Indeed, there were some hilarious moments and those 4 acting masters (George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey) were all in great shape. There is even one scene when they were all together in one room and it was for me really some kind of cinematic climax, seriously. To conclude, even though it never reaches its potential, it is still a really fun flick and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are a fan of any of those 4 actors I mentionned before.
