Embedding external content disabled

I have disabled the ability to embed external content such as images or flash embeds, this is for security reasons and the inability to easily moderate this content.

For lists any embedded external images are automatically rehosted on listal so nothing changes there.

For user profiles the images are not automatically rehosted so to embed images into your profile you need to first upload the image to your personal image gallery.

Is that the reason why the flags in list.lisimg.com/images/flags/ don't show any longer?

If your referring to the flag counters like the ones you can create here:

Then yes... those will no longer work.

@jaytoast: Thanks for the reply, but actually I was referring to some other images: GIFs on i2.listal.com like these

etc.

They are on Listal servers, but I used them in html tags as if external content. Now they are not showing any longer on my home page and lists.

Same goes for
i.listal.com/limages/header/listal.gif

Is there a way to recall them directly, I mean not as html?

You would have to upload the image to your personal images and use it from there. It is 18px wide so you can change the image code from:

That should give you an image size that won't mess up the current formatting on any list.

If it is helpful at all you can use the world flags I uploaded and just change the size.

I put images in my reviews for a reason. I don't understand why the ability to do this has been removed. I don't put pornographic material on my reviews or anywhere on this site and I believe many others are in my same position. So, why remove the ability from those who would not do such a thing?

Because there are people who do put pornographic material on lists using embedding. That is the only reason it was removed.

You can still put images in your reviews. So, nothing is being taken away as far as being able to put images on lists, reviews or anywhere else on the site. You just can't try to bypass Listal by using some form of image embedding.

Is it possible for an individual to change the site to what it was before? I personally think the new look is horrible and I cant find anything, including my favorites. This may not be the right place for it but im surprised more people haven't complained about the changes.

I know you can see your "Favorite Actors and Actresses" in the List sections but I liked the list of people in the middle of the screen. So ignore my above statement please, because I assume it cant be changed.
