1. Tobey Maguire
Tobey Maguire as Luke Skywalker

-I don't know how this one will be responded to, but I think this could work. There's just something about him that makes me think he would fit the part well. Back in the day as Spider-Man he played the young and somewhat naive hero, sort of like how Luke Skywalker was in the Original Trilogy. By this time he'd obviously older and wiser, and I still think Maguire could play that. In his recent role in BROTHERS he showed a great level of dramatic intensity in that role.

Average listal rating (1451 ratings) 8  IMDB Rating
2. Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman as Han Solo

-As shown in the X-MEN films, Hugh is great at playing likable roguish characters. Another role that tells me he'd make a great Solo would be his performance in AUSTRALIA (which was an alright movie, not great not terrible).

Average listal rating (744 ratings) 6.9  IMDB Rating
3. Maggie Gyllenhaal
Maggie Gyllenhall as Leia Organa/Solo

-I don't know why. She's a pretty good actress and could do the role well.

Average listal rating (1667 ratings) 7.6  IMDB Rating
4. Will Smith
Will Smith as Lando Calrissian

-Now don't start laughing just yet. Lando Calrissian played by Billy Dee Williams back in the day was the king of cool. Nowadays we've got Will Smith. He has the charisma to play Lando, and has done a blend of comedic and serious dramatic work in his career. Both of which would help him in this role.

Average listal rating (1672 ratings) 7.9  IMDB Rating
5. Ewan McGregor
Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi

-I know it's really popular to slam the acting of the prequel trilogy. But no matter what's said I firmly believe that Ewan McGregor did a fantastic job as Obi-Wan, especially in Episodes II and III. The man's a very talented actor, and very much resembles Sir Alec Guinness. Just use some make up to make him look like the older Obi-Wan if his ghost were to appear again and then you'd be set.

Average listal rating (64 ratings) 5  IMDB Rating
6. Peter Mayhew
No Reason These Guys Couldn't Return

Average listal rating (283 ratings) 7.5  IMDB Rating
7. Rachel Nichols
Rachel Nichols as Mara Jade

-Some fans theorize the use of Expanded Universe characters in a sequel trilogy, but I kind of doubt that. But, why not cast some of them anyway. Even if it's just for fun. Anyway, I don't know on this one. She looks the part and I think she would work.

Average listal rating (941 ratings) 7.4  IMDB Rating
8. Hugo Weaving
Hugo Weaving as Admiral Thrawn

-He was great as Elrond in THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, but I didn't become a huge fan of his until I saw him as Agent Smith in the MATRIX films. He's one hell of an actor, and great in villainous roles. Plus he's got the perfect voice for it.

Average listal rating (574 ratings) 7.6  IMDB Rating
9. Bill Nighy
Bill Nighy as Darth Plagueis

-Heh, I thought why not cast this role. I remember around the time of REVENGE OF THE SITH's release there were rumors going around that a character involved in REVENGE OF THE SITH would be the villain of the sequel trilogy. (Or at least I think that was a rumor, could somebody clear that up?). I thought through the characters, and all I could think of was Darth Palgueis. How do you get worse and stronger than Palpatine? I thought perhaps maybe that rumor was pointing towards his master! We technically never saw his death, and if he was as powerful as made out to be, then maybe there's a way he could've survived. As for an actor, I really like Bill Nighy. He was great as the villains Davy Jones in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, as well as Viktor in UNDERWORLD. Also, like Hugo Weaving he's got an awesome voice. I don't think there's a high chance this would happen, but as I said this one was just for a bit of fun.

As all of you probably know by now if you've seen the other things I've done on this sight, I'm a huge STAR WARS fan. I don't know if they should even do another trilogy as the story seems pretty well wrapped up with Episode VI, but I got to thinking of what if they did another trilogy. I don't know if they'd do it, but if it were set later enough it would be cool to see the original cast return (though some of them would have to work pretty hard to get back into shape). These casting choices are based on if they had to recast the roles with it being set sooner after RETURN OF THE JEDI.

This is kinda hilarious in hindsight when you consider that Disney just bought Lucasfilm and is planning to release Episode VII for 2015.
