17 years, 1 month ago at Mar 29 16:06 - I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet but I realize that there are alot of tv shows (Okay, okay, anime) that are not in the IMDB. Like these for example:

There are most likely plenty more but these are the ones I've come across recently.
Not really a big deal or major concern but eh... Maybe sometime in the future someone will have a more legit excuse other than anime.

I'm not too sure if its a wise idea really. Leaves it a wee bit too open to abuse. Personally I prefer to create the IMDB entry for it myself and wait a heck of a long time to see it actually on site. That way it ensures a degree of validity ;)

17 years, 1 month ago at Mar 30 11:18 - I dunno. I bet there's tons of stuff IMDB doesn't have. Especially non-Anglo TV-shows, documentary films etc. Still people have seen them, and might want to rate them, or declare ownership. And not everyone's up to creating an IMDB entry.
In the future, this might be something you could submit to mod-approval, and provide sources. Would be less open to abuse than custom DVDs anyway.

17 years, 1 month ago at Mar 30 13:45 - It might get subjected to alot of abuse now that I think about it but for the most part I think the user contribution to this site is what keeps alive but I do agree with jgnikkila that mod-approval would be a nice touch. It would be a nice touch on alot of other things come to think of it...

That didn't even occur to me... So I suppose until Listal establishes it's own separate database from IMDB then this suggestion wouldn't be feasible?

17 years, 1 month ago at Apr 1 1:18 - Nah, it just means that once you spot a duplicate you could (hypothetically, in the future...) report that to a moderator as well, who'd fix it. I don't think it's impossible to imagine.

Yes, I'm not thinking at all, otherwise I would have been able to come to such a reasonable solution.
At the moment there are some duplicates on Listal popping up every now and then. *cough*
