Review of The Guest

I remember seeing the preview for this and thinking the premise looked interesting. Then I found out the director is horror genre regular Adam Wingard which is pretty cool and his buddy AJ Bowen tags along as one of the cast members. I don't know what it is about our man fella that is off, but I hope the reveal is very interesting instead of some tired cliche. He seems like mix between Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, Matthew Goode, and Cam Gigandet. There are some pretty good fight scenes. The music while their in the maze is actually pretty awesome. I have to say Dan Stevens is a pretty stellar villain and he is actually quite likeable. Most of the time it's pretty hard to make a villain that you actually like and feel bad for. The death scenes were decent, but nothing really special except that some happen at random. Pretty much all of the characters are likeable. The twist was alright, but I was expecting a bit more of an explanation. The ending kind of reminded me of the My Bloody Valentine remake. This was pretty intense and fun to watch. I recommend checking it out for sure.
