A very good movie

One of the (very few) positive aspects of 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' is that it has allowed this movie to be reevaluated. Indeed, up to that point, it was usually considered as the weakest link in this mighty franchise but not anymore. As far as I'm concerned, even though it might not be indeed the best installment, it was still a very enjoyable blockbuster. First of all, one of the most stupid complain I heard is that Indiana Jones was not facing the Nazis this time. Do you really think that it would be really neat to have him facing every time again the same enemy? I don't think so and I think the bad guys were fine here. Another big critic was that the tone became too dark but in fact, this way, it made the movie actually stand out from its predecessor. Still, I have to admit that they really pushed it though with all these scenes involving some mistreated chidren. Furthermore, I have to admit that some elements indeed didn't really work. For example, sure, Kate Capshaw was really cute back in those days and I can understand that Steven Spielberg would eventually hook up with her but, seriously, she was the most annoying and underwhelming female interest in the whole franchise. Furthermore, the whole scene with the exotic food was just so misguided and rather cringe-inducing to watch. Anyway, even though it wasn't really flawless, Indiana Jones was still completely badass and they were so many impressive action scenes so the damned thing is completely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย
